Nvidia made some bold claims about its RTX 50-series GPUs when they were announced earlier this month, saying that the new range can outclass their previous-gen counterparts with twice the performance. Although Nvidia’s new lineup might be among the best graphics cards when they launch, the vast majority of the extra performance comes on the back of the new DLSS Multi-Frame Generation feature that’s exclusive to RTX 50-series GPUs. During Nvidia’s Editor’s Day for Blackwell GPUs at CES 2025, GeForce desktop product manager Justin Walker said that the RTX 5080 was about 15% faster than the RTX 4080 without DLSS…
Terraria‘s next update might not be the last one after all. The game’s refusal to ever be “complete” is something of a running joke among fans, as the official final update landed in May 2020, only to be followed by others in October 2020 and in 2022. Another “final” update was later scheduled for late 2024 or early 2025. Version 1.4.5 is said to be the actual, we-really-mean-it-this-time final update, but it isn’t quite finished yet. Developer Re-Logic apologized for the long delay on the update, but said the team wants it to feel “just right” and promises that the…

We first heard rumors that Samsung had a new battery technology in the works in late September and early October 2024. Now, a report from one of Samsung’s subsidiaries says that not only are those batteries on the way, but mass production will begin as early as 2026. These new oxide-based batteries have a density of 200 watt-hours per liter and are much closer to larger lithium-ion batteries, according to a report in the Korea Herald. Samsung hopes these batteries will replace lithium batteries, as the solid-state oxide batteries are safer, more efficient, and more flexible than existing technology. The…
Matt Murdock is ready for the MCU spotlight in the first trailer for the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. Well, I will admit. It’s not entirely unpleasant seeing you again,” Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, says to Charlie Cox’s Murdock in a scene that mirrors the diner confrontation in Heat. Fisk is running for mayor of New York City, while Murdock, who is blind, prefers fighting crime as lawyer in the courts instead of being the vigilante Daredevil. However, Murdock is back to wearing Daredevil’s signature suit by the end of the trailer and delivering punishment via the fist.…
Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost mission launches to the moon A moon lander from Firefly Aerospace was launched this morning carrying a variety of NASA science instruments and technology demonstrations.
