A projector designed to travel like a gadget
Portable projectors have become smaller, but Aurzen is taking the concept further with the ZIP Pro, a device designed to fold into a compact three-part structure.
Introduced at IFA 2026, the projector folds down to just 115 × 97 × 44 mm and weighs 586 grams. Its folding body also acts as its stand, removing the need to carry a separate support.
The idea is simple: put it in a backpack or suitcase, unfold it when needed and turn almost any suitable wall into a large screen.
Native 1080p in a pocket-sized design
The ZIP Pro uses a DLP projection system with native 1920 × 1080 Full HD resolution, a significant upgrade over the original ZIP’s 720p output.
Aurzen rates the projector at 200 ANSI lumens and recommends a viewing size of roughly 60–80 inches in dark environments. It can technically project images up to 115 inches, although ambient light will have a major impact on image quality.
That makes the ZIP Pro better suited to bedrooms, hotel rooms, camping and other low-light environments than brightly lit living rooms.
Automatic focus and four-point correction
The projector includes ToF Zero-Lag Auto Focus and four-point keystone correction.
That matters because portable projectors are rarely placed perfectly in front of a wall. The system is designed to compensate when the projector is positioned at an angle or at different distances.
Its folding mechanism can also be adjusted for tabletop and ceiling projection.
USB-C turns it into a portable gaming screen
One of the most useful upgrades is the addition of USB-C video input through DisplayPort Alt Mode.
Compatible laptops, phones and gaming devices can connect directly to the projector. Aurzen lists a 20–40 ms response time when USB-C is used with its low-latency gaming mode.
The company also lists compatibility with devices such as the Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck and other USB-C video sources, although compatibility depends on the source device.
Up to 2.5 hours on battery
The ZIP Pro carries a 38Wh integrated battery rated for up to 150 minutes in ECO mode.
Aurzen says that is about 67% longer than the original ZIP. The projector also supports 65W USB-C PD fast charging, allowing it to remain useful away from a wall outlet.
Actual runtime will vary depending on brightness, audio volume, wireless connectivity and projection mode.
Two people can use Bluetooth headphones
The ZIP Pro also supports two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously.
That could be useful for late-night viewing in a hotel room or bedroom, allowing two people to watch without relying on the built-in speakers.
The projector itself has dual 2W stereo speakers and can also connect to external Bluetooth audio equipment.
There is one important limitation
The ZIP Pro is not designed as a full smart-TV replacement.
Instead of running a complete streaming platform with apps such as Netflix installed directly, it relies on screen mirroring and connected devices. DRM restrictions can also limit wireless playback for some streaming services.
For protected content, a compatible USB-C connection can provide a more reliable solution.
Price and availability
Aurzen introduced the ZIP Pro at IFA 2026 and lists it at $629.99, with an introductory price of $579.99. The ZIP Pro is not trying to be the cheapest projector on the market.
Its pitch is different: native 1080p, a built-in battery, USB-C video, automatic setup and a genuinely portable folding design.
