Paragon Solutions, a startup that sells access to surveillance technologies including phone spyware, has cut ties with the Italian government, according to reports in The Guardian and Haaretz. On Thursday, citing an anonymous source, The Guardian reported Paragon had first suspended its contract with Italy on Friday after WhatsApp said it had disrupted a hacking campaign leveraging the Israeli startup’s spyware targeting around 90 people. On Wednesday, Paragon terminated the contract once the company determined that the Italian government had broken “the terms of service and ethical framework it had agreed under its Paragon contract,” according to the British newspaper.…

The idea of a foldable iPhone has floated around the web for a long time, but we have more evidence the device might exist than ever before. Well-known tipster Jukanlosreve shared a post with a huge amount of new information, including the estimated size, release schedule, and much more. The detail that immediately stands out is the thickness. At 9.2mm while folded and 4.6mm when unfolded, the proposed iPhone is only slightly thicker than the Honor Magic V3, the current thinnest foldable on the market. And the second most notable detail is the whopping 12-inch screen. According to the post…
Video game genres ebb and flow in terms of popularity, but the first-person shooter (FPS) has remained one of the biggest for generations. While there are plenty of amazing FPS games on PS5 and Xbox Series X, with most even being cross-platform games, the PC is still the ideal platform for shooters. You’re free to use a standard controller on PC, but mastering the mouse and keyboard controls allows you to play at a much higher level. Of course, not every FPS game is a multiplayer game, and developers have pushed the genre to its creative limits on PC. Steam…
A new Mac app called RPLY launches today, designed to help texters achieve “inbox zero” on iMessage. Targeting those who often forget to reply and leave their friends on delivered for days, RPLY utilizes AI to identify missed texts and suggests responses to prevent users from unintentionally ghosting. The AI assistant can automatically respond to messages in a user’s inbox that have not received a reply for over 24 hours. RPLY is the brainchild of Molly Cantillon, a 21-year-old Stanford dropout who created NOX, a personalized AI assistant for iOS backed by OpenAI’s startup fund. RPLY was built to handle…
Ford CEO Jim Farley has a question about President Donald Trump’s threatened tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China: Why stop there? Farley said in a conference call Wednesday that Trump’s selective approach “doesn’t make sense.” Why are we having this conversation while Hyundai-Kia is importing 600,000 units in the U.S. with no incremental tariff? And why is Toyota able to import a half a million vehicles in the U.S. with no incremental tariffs?” Farley questioned. If we’re going to have a tariff policy that lasts for a month, or whatever it’s going to be, years — it better…
Spotify and Warner Music Group (WMG) have unveiled a new multi-year agreement that covers both recorded music and music publishing, the companies announced on Thursday. The comments come as Spotify has been…

If you’re planning to watch Super Bowl LIX on your computer, you’ve still got time to upgrade with monitor deals. For the best possible experience, you’ll want a top-quality screen like the 49-inch Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 curved gaming monitor, which is on sale from Samsung at $300 off. From its original price of $1,700, it’s down to $1,400 — still pretty expensive, but since it’s going to serve as an excellent display long after the big game, it will be worth every single penny. You need to hurry with your purchase if you want it delivered in time though!…
If you’re a Sonos owner, I know that right now you’re probably less interested in talking about streaming services, and a lot more concerned about when (or if) the company will ever finish fixing its “new” mobile app. I wish I had something positive to share on that front, but alas, like you, I’m also waiting for the day when I can once again reliably adjust the volume on my speakers. I’m confident that day will (eventually) come, and I haven’t thrown the towel in on Sonos despite the agony of the past eight months. In the meantime, I want…
Companies worldwide now officially required to comply with the European Union’s expansive AI Act, which seeks to mitigate many of the potential harms posed by the new technology. The EU Commission on Tuesday issued additional guidance on how firms can ensure their generative models measure up to the Union’s requirements and remain clear of the Act’s “unacceptable risk” category for AI use cases, which are now banned within the economic territory. The AI Act was voted into law in March, 2024, however, the first compliance deadline came and passed just a few days ago on February 2, 2025. The EU…
